It was learned from Yichang Forestry and Garden BureauonJuly13 thatby the end of June,175,485 mu of afforestationhad been completedin our city, including 28,495 mu of artificial afforestation,accounting for 97% of the annual assignments;12,360 mu of rural greening, accounting for 109.8% of the annual assignments; 9,300 mu of reforestation, accounting for 89.42%; 42,400 mu of non-commercial forest, accounting for 98.6%.

　　Forestry departmentsat all levelsin Yichang focus on policy implementation and working progress for the quality of afforestation in the season. Based on effective prevention and control of the epidemic, the Municipal Bureau of Forestry and Garden Planning has taken many precise measures to promote afforestation in spring and accelerate ecological restoration in the whole region.

　　The city actively promotes the construction of forest villages, highlighting village tree planting at“five sides” (waterside, hillside, village side, roadsideandhouse side) to increase rural greening, striving to create national forest villages. The city speeds up the improvement of the Yangtze River Ecological Corridor.Up toJune 30, 1,003 mu of afforestation on both sides of the Yangtze River has been completed, accounting for 83% of the annual plan. The city also speeds up mountain protection and restoration in urban areas. Through restoration projects and “mountain leadersystem” for tree planting, 80,000 square metersre-greeningin the Songlin mountainand Wujiagang District toll station has been completed, and 34 “mountain leadersystem” institutions have planted 39,800 seedlings. The city carries out a voluntary tree-planting program with the theme of “Protecting the Yangtze River& Planting a tree in Yichang”. By promoting “the Internet + planting trees”, Yichang co-builds “Fujian&Yichang Friendship Forest” with Fujian Medical Support Team.
