The Yichang Municipal People’s Government Office has issued a notice of Measures for the Implementation of 2.5-Day Flexible Weekend System in Yichang (For Trial Implementation), which will be carried out from July to December 2020, based on information from the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism on July 20.

　　According to the notice, the system will be widely implemented, including party and government organs at all levels throughout the city, state-owned enterprises, public institutions and other units that follow the 2.5-day flexible weekend system voluntarily. The weekend system should be performed on the principles of keeping current working hours per week, normal work of all institutions and regular production and operation of enterprises. On the basis of the original two-day weekend, Friday afternoon can be added to form a 2.5-day weekend, and the previous afternoon can be arranged to take a vacation in advance in case of legal holidays. All units can flexibly arrange to supplement the original half-day working hours as required. In addition, all units should improve the 2.5-day flexible weekend working system with sound reporting procedures and take the system of paid leave into effect to ensure the right to leave of officials and employees.

　　In accordance with the notice, government organs, state-owned enterprises and public institutions can use trade union funds to buy the “Yichang Three Gorges TourismYear Card” for their staff. Outdoor collective activities organized by trade union shall not be less than 2 times in a year. Many practical activities with characteristics can be scheduled on Friday afternoon, such as revolutionary education, patriotism education, thematic party day and team building, among which expenditures can be reimbursed according to related regulations.(Reporter Wang Ying, Ruan Zhongmou, correspondent Zhou Yong)
