Yichang scoreshigh on the list according to the review resultsof the National HealthyCity (District) in 2019notifiedby the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committeeon August 14. It isforthe fourth time that thecity has successfully won the title of "National Healthy City" since 2008. At the same time, Zigui County and Yuan’an County were reconfirmed as "National Health County,"while Guizhou Town, Taipingxi Town, Letianxi Town, Longquan Town, Leizu Town, Wuyanquan Town, Niejiahe Town, Panjiawan Tujia Family towns, etc.were reconfirmed as "National Health Township".

　　As the highest honor awarded to a city in terms ofpatriotism and health, the title is an important symbol of development and civilization of a city, and also a major reflection of the social management and comprehensive competitiveness of the local government. As early asin2008, Yichangbecamethe first in the province to be ranked as a national healthycity, and passed the national review twice in 2012 and 2016 respectively.

　　It is not easy to win the honor, yeteven more difficult to keep it. On April 4, 2019, the city relaunched the campaignto build a national healthy city. In order to furtherhighlight the title, the forces from all over the city quickly gatheredto set up a leading group for the construction of a national healthy city with high standardsto fully promote the work, with the secretary of the municipal party committee as the group leader, and the mayor as the first deputy group leader; all the districts and departments established corresponding leading institutions, so that a working mechanism could be set up withthe leading group coordinatingthe overall management, and every unit takingtheir own responsibilityandall the people participating in the campaign.
