2020-08-27 17:07:10

On August 16, the number of passengers came to 8,762 at Yichang Sanxia Airport, a peak of daily arrivals and departures since the flight resumed after COVID-19 lockdown. At present, passenger volume at Yichang Sanxia Airport has recovered to 80% compared to that of the same period a year earlier.

Since July, Yichang Sanxia Airport has reopened Taiyuan-Yichang-Jieyang route, and added more flights from Yichang to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Kunming. Currently, there are 2 flights a day from Yichang to Beijing, 6 flights to Shanghai, and 3 flights to Guangzhou. With preferential policies pushing forward, cross-province passengers reached 5,152 on August 16, accounting for 60% of the total volume.

After the implementation of the Free-ticket policy for tourism in Hubei province in early August, Yichang Sanxia Airport has taken several proactive measures to accelerate the recovery of tourism, including contact with local travel agencies for the passengers traveling interest and launching air ticketplus tourism products package online. Currently, Yichang Sanxia Airport owns 50 air routes and 27 direct flights carrying 502 flights per week. (Reporter Yan Xiaodong, Correspondent Zhang Na)
