On September 3, Liu Zhenjuan, Vice-minister of Station Program Consulting Department, China Railway Economic and Planning Research Institutetogether with the experts from Wuhan-Jiujiang Railway Passenger-dedicated Line Hubei Co.,Ltd. and the Yichang Municipal Development and Reform Commission visited Longquan Town of Yiling District, conducted a survey of the site of Yichangbei Railway Station, a high-speed railway station planned and to be built along the Yangtze River and listened to the work report. The officials in charge from Hanchuan City, Tianmen City, Zhongxiang City, Jingmen City and Dangyang City along the railway line participated in the inspection.
“Now we are in the core area of Yichangbei Railway Station,” said a staff when he unfolded the planning map to report the details of this project in Wanjiafan Village, Longquan Town. The experts listened to the report attentively and inquired about the geological conditions and construction scales of the station while listening.
The Hubei section of high-speed railway along the Yangtze River is one of the four high-speed railways approved for construction in Hubei this year. Meanwhile, the China Railway Economic Planning and Research Institute will conduct scientific and careful research to provide the best conceptual design schemes for the 6 railway stations, including the Yichangbei Railway Station.
It was learned that the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River from Wuhan to Yichang covers 6 stations, including Hanchuandong Railway Station, Tianmenbei Railway Station, Zhongxiangnan Railway Station, Jingmenxi Railway Station, Dangyangxi Railway Station and Yichangbei Railway Station. Once established, the project will give full play to the radiational role of the high-speed railway and stationsand contribute greatly to post-epidemic recovery and high-quality development of local economy as well.
Located in Wanjiafan Village of Longquan Township in Yiling District, the Yichangbei Railway Station is not only the terminal of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River from Wuhan to Yichang, but also is a traffic hinge which intersects the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River and the other lines,including Zhengzhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway link, Shanghai-Chengdu high-speed railway, Yichang-Chongqing high-speed railway and so on. Its surface has been increasedfrom 15,000m2to80,000m2in the scale of a comprehensive transportation hub, with buildings on both sides, waiting rooms overhead and 9 platforms and 20 lines equipped.
