Since the implementation of “2020 Dog Management Plan of Yichang”, as of August 31, 14,161 dogs have been registered and accepted rabies immunization in animal diagnosis and treatment institutions in urban area, 12,229 dogs have been examined and registered by the police while 78 dogs have been accepted by dog shelters.

　　The dog registration information system has been introduced to 24 animal diagnosis and treatment institutions, regional community staff and policemen by the municipal police station. The operation specification for dog management and law enforcement is formulated and all police offices are required to deal with disputes involving dogs. According to the data, from July to August this year, 70 cases of dog disputes were reported in urban areas, down 52.7% compared from May to June and 24.7% compared from last year.

　　A two-month campaign has been launched since September in order to address public’s concerns that banned dogs are kept, dogs are not tied on leashes and dog feces pollute the environment.
