0.18mm Ultra-thin Electronic Glass in Mass Production in Yichang

  On November 22, Yichang China South Glass Group (CSG) announced another good news: after 10 hours of intensive production and debugging, with the slow rolling of the transition roller, 0.18 mm ultra-thin electronic glass "walks" on the main transmission line, successfully meeting the standard of mass production, with a daily output of 10,000 square meters.

  As a key raw material product in the upstream of electronic display industry, ultra-thin electronic glass had depended on import until 2010. With continuous development of domestic enterprises in the past decade, the previous record of various thickness products monopolized by foreign manufacturers has been gradually broken. With the large-scale promotion and application of the 5thgeneration mobile networks (5G), mobile phone manufacturers are actively developing mobile terminals with flexible screens. As a high-quality display material, the thinner the glass is, the greater the bending angle will be. Therefore, it is an inevitable trend to develop ultra-thin electronic glass. The production of ultra-thin electronic glass with thickness of 0.2mm and below represents the most advanced technical level of ultra-thin electronic glass production enterprises.

  CSG in Yichang was founded in January 2013 in Xiaoting district. April 2015 witnessed the successful full-series production of ultra-thin electronic glass with thickness of 0.7 mm to 0.2 mm. It is currently the only enterprise that can steadily provide ultra-thin electronic glass under 0.2 mm thickness with high quality. The products are widely used in tablet touch devices, solar panels, onboard intelligent devices. It plays a leading role in the market share of segmentation with good financial situation.

  The successful research and development of the 0.18mm ultra-thin electronic glass has enhanced the international competitiveness of China in ultra-thin electronic glass industry. It is of great significance to promote the adjustment and optimization of the glass plate, and lays the foundation for the future development of thinner ultra-thin electronic glass.
