The reporter learned from the Yichang Port Group on November 30 that the Yichang-Chongqing direct shipping line achieved a forwarding volume of 6,218 TEUs in the 3rd quarter of this year.

　　On November 4 last year, the Yichang Port Group started its cooperation of direct forwarding between Yichang and Chongqing, as started container shipping between the two port-based national logistics hub cities.

　　As a result of integration of state-owned port resource management right and resource sharing and mutual function complement between Yunchi Port and Baiyang Port in the second half of this year, the direct shipping of the Yichang-Chongqing line increased from two shifts per month up to two shifts per week. Besides, the direct shipping line was accompanied with railway forwarding from Yichang to Chongqing, Dazhou, Chengdu and Kunming when port transportation demand of containered goods, including grain, oil, building materials and non-metal mines, exceeded its shipping capacity, and in September, the railway forwarding volume reached 348 TEUs, which set the largest monthly transportation volume of water-rail combined cargo transport this year.

　　Benefiting from the shipping condition of the Yangtze River and the important position of national logistics of Yichang, the Yichang-Chongqing direct container shipping, accompanied with railway transportation has effectively contributed to the cargo transportation between the Yangtze River Delta economic circle and the Sichuan-Chongqing economic circle.
