Cao Zhigang, director of the Emergency and Critical Care Medicine Department at Affiliated Renhe Hospital of China Three Gorges University, reminded people to take following tips to prevent fromCO poisoning: not to close the room when using a natural gas water heater and not to take a bath for too long; checking the gas pipe regularly to ensure safety; and do not sleep in a car with the windows and doors closed and the air conditioning on. If someone has symptoms of poisoning, call 120 emergency number immediately, and at the same time, the patient should be taken out of the poisoning environment as soon as possible, opening doors and windows immediately to ensure adequate ventilation. If the patient appears to be unconscious, turn his head to one side to prevent vomit from being inhaled into the respiratory tract. When vomiting occurs, clean it up promptly to avoid asphyxiation.
