On January 7, it is learned from the Yichang Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau that Yichang has recently launched a special enforcement action called “Blue Sky Guard” in the spring of 2021 to strictly enforce the law and tackle the violations in the prevention of air pollution, making a good start to win the battle to protect the sky.
In accordance with the principle of “highlighting key points, adapting to local conditions and concerting efforts”, this special enforcement action will carry out daily and night inspections, in an unscheduled and unannounced manner, on air pollution from industrial enterprises and constructions sites as well as the implementation of emergency response to heavy pollution weather.
In order to carry out this action, Yichang Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau has set up a leading group headed by the bureau’s heads and a comprehensive enforcement team with members from the Municipal and Environment Bureau, Yichang Municipal Ecological and Environment Monitoring Center and law enforcement officials participating in the work. Technical exports and third-party service team will also use high-tech means such as navigation monitoring and radar scanning to troubleshoot problems and conduct analysis in key areas.
Up to now, Yichang has dispatched more than 600 law-enforcement officials. 50 various air pollution problems have been found and handed over to relevant departments for further investigation and prosecution. (Sanxia Daily Reporter Yang Jing, Correspondent He Kun)
