Intangible Heritage Alleys in Qu Yuan's Hometown as Emerging Cultural Tourism formats

  It is reported that in Qu Yuan’s hometown, Zigui County, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Alley will open on January 10 with over 20 intangible heritage projects, more than 30 representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, more than 670 intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and commodities officially stationed in the alley. 

  Located at the Zigui County Culture Hall, thealley covers an area of 1,500 square meters and boasts 30 pavilions. A variety of intangible cultural heritage experience activities will be offered, including intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, displays, creative research and sales, and immersive experiences, covering intangible cultural heritage items such as Sanlv embroidery, Xijiang leather carving, Xijiang straw weaving, ancient brewing, stone pillar ink making, and traditional mugwortmaking, etc.

  It is understood that more than 20 intangible heritage handicrafts with distinct characteristics and broad prospects of development were finally selected to enter the alley free of chargethrough open recruitment to the public, voluntary declaration by inheritors, and expert evaluation and selection since the project was launched in September 2020. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Alley aims to refine the humanistic temperament of Zigui through the integrated use of its unique resources, enrich the connotation of cultural tourism productsand increase the income of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.
