Hubei Science and Technology Innovation Conference was held on February 18 to commend and reward 327 award-winning units across the province. A total of 29 projects in our city were awarded, ranking among the top cities and counties in the province.

　　Of the 29 projects, 15 were completed under the auspices of Yichang City, including 1 for natural science, 11 for scientific and technological progress, 2 for promotion of achievements and 1 for innovation in science and technology-based SMEs. “Computer-aided molecular simulation and design” won the third prize of Hubei Natural Science Award, 5 achievements including “Deep Development of Yeast Extract and Key Technology and Application of Green Manufacturing” won the second prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award, the third prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award was awarded to “Key Technology for Protection and Application of Rare Plants Specific to Three Gorges Water Conservancy and Hydropower Project”and other 5 achievements, the third prize of Hubei Achievement Promotion Award was awarded to 2 achievements including “Promotion and Application of Widely Applicable High-yielding and Stable-yielding Maize Variety Yidan 629”, and Hubei Innovation Award for Science and Technology-based SMEs went to Yichang Xincheng Graphite Co., Ltd..
