According toYichang Forestry and Parks Bureau, with the approaching of the Tree-Planting Festival, Yichang has launched 30 “Internet plus voluntary tree-planting” activities. 　　The voluntary tree-planting sites are mainly distributed in Bailinhe, Xiaoxita Forest Park, Three Gorges Botanical Garden and other places. Besides, there are tree-planting sitesin Yidu, Zhijiang, Dangyang, Yuanan, Xingshan, Zigui, Changyang, Wufeng and other counties.2,500 citizens can sign up for planting or tending and managing 34,000 trees, including crape myrtles, ginkgo bilobas, Metasequoias, cherries, peach trees, red maples, etc.

　　Officials of the bureau introduced that in addition to the “Internet plus voluntary tree-planting” activity, Yichang will carry out more than 100 different types of voluntary activities. “We hope that citizens will fulfill their responsibilitynearby in various forms such as tree tendingandmanagement, facility repair and constructionand volunteer services..”

　　In recent years, Yichang has extensively carried out various tree-planting-themedactivities, vigorously advocated the greening of the surrounding areas and the mobilization of relatives and intimates, built a large number of voluntary tree-planting bases such as the Youth Forest, the Women’s Forest, the Reporters’ Forest, the Friendship Forest, etc., and promotedthe “Internet plus voluntary tree-planting” activity. 　　Ke Zhiqiang, director of the YichangForestry and ParksBureau, introduced that the priority this year is to improve the engineeringconstruction of five major projects, especially the projects of the ecological corridorsalong theYangtze River and the QingjiangRiver.“We plan to build 20,000 hectares of ecological corridors on both sides of the Yangtze River and the Qingjiang River through afforestation, forest closure, forest tending and restoration of degraded forests in three years.”
