On March 21, the reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (the Bureau hereafter)that by that day, newly created jobs in Yichang have reached 28,800, a 39.7% increase year-on-year. Among the 165,000 people who returned home before the Spring Festival, 16,000 are willing to stay in Yichang for employment or entrepreneurship, an increase of 60% year-on-year.
To meet the labor demand of key enterprises (projects), the Bureau sent 11 working groups to provide door-to-door services for key programs, major projects, and enterprises in important industrial or supply chains. The working groups customized employment guarantee schemes for key enterprises (projects) such as Bangpu Yichang, Xingfa Group,and Angel Yeast, held 9 special job fairs and organized job seekers to conduct job viewing and trial employment. Through these efforts, more than 5,200 people have been employed for posts in 63 scheduled provincial key enterprises (projects), and the number meets 95.5% of the total employment demand.
In response to the labor demand of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), the Bureau arranged the directors of the employment bureaus at the city and county levels along with those enterprises with labor shortages to hold 30 special recruitment fairs in rural areas, which attracted 4,249 rural laborers to stay in Yichang for employment. Besides, the Bureau also mounted 7 job fairs in Yidu, Zhijiang, Changyang, Zigui, Wufeng and other areas with surplus labor, and recruited more than 700 employees for local MSMEs.
At the same time, the Bureau has actively mobilized public employment service agencies and operational human resources service agencies to build platforms for communication between enterprises and job seekers.For instance, through the “Spring Action”, the public employment service agencies collected 53,000 jobs from 2,155 enterprises (projects), mainly from the enterprises belonging to the government-controlled firms and provincial capitals located in Yichang, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, and new key enterprises (projects), and conducted 125 offline recruitment activities, during which 43,000 people expressed employment intentions and 23,400 more signed labor contracts. In addition, the city's operational human resource service enterprises played their role in market-based adjustment, providing services for 5,832 employers 113,700 times and holding 226 recruitment fairs of various kinds, in which 21,800 people reached employment intention with employing units.
