Three Gorges Project Museum Opens

  On August 5, the Three Gorges Project Museum has been firstly in all-round opening in the Three Gorges Dam area in Yichang.

  The Three Gorges Project Museum is located in the lower reaches of the right bank of the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station, about 1 km away from the Three Gorges Dam. It covers an area of 150,000 square meters, with a building area of 21,000 square meters and an indoor exhibition area of about 10,000 square meters. The main building of the museum is a tetrahedron triangle that plays an important role in River Closure. The building structure is a spatial steel structure with two floors, and the dam observation deck is provided on the second floor and the roof.

  The Engineering Museum and the Hydropower Museum are three basic exhibition halls of the Three Gorges Project Museum. With time as the axis, the Three Gorges Museum showcases the century-old dream realization and great comprehensive benefits of the Three Gorges Project. The Engineering Museum presents the Three Gorges Project from the dimensions of society, culture, science, technology, environment and development. The Hydropower Museum displays the development course of hydropower and hydropower science and technology in China. The museum also has special exhibition halls and temporary exhibition halls such as Curiosity Hydropower Research Center, Professional Exchange Center and Cultural Creation Center.
