On October 28, the Standing Committee of the Seventh Municipal People's Congress of Yichang voted at its fifth meeting to approve the Regulations of Yichang City on the Administration of Dog Raising, which will be implemented after the approval of the Standing Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Congress.

　　According to the Regulations, there will be a distinction between key and general management areas in the city and dog raising will be administrated accordingly. A compulsory immunization system for dogs against rabies and a registration system for dog raising will be carried out in accordance with the law, together with the prohibition of raising ferocious dogs and large dogs.
