Recently, the Hubei Provincial Department of Finance has allocated the special funds from the Central Government for foreign trade and economic development in 2022. A total of nine projects in Yichang Free Trade Zone received support funds of 1.81 million yuan, accounting for 90% of the total number of supported projects and the amount of support funds in Hubei Free Trade Pilot Zone.
Recent years witnessed great efforts made by Yichang Free Trade Zone in reform and integration to accelerate two-way opening-up. The high-level platforms, such as Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park, are flourishing, and the cross-border transaction is promoted by capacity cooperation, Cross-border Shopping Festival and Yichang C6 Cross-border Shopping Center. The cross-border e-commerce “ecosystem” of “global purchase, global selling and global live streaming” is formed quickly. A batch of pilot projects in Yichang, including the Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, the Retail Import Pilot City, the Market Procurement Trade Pilot City, the Service Outsourcing Pilot City, the third batch of “Widespread Entrepreneurship and Innovation” Demonstration Base in China and the Industry Base of the National Torch Program, have been approved successively. The foreign trade and economic development in Yichang Free Trade Zone has been heralded and supported by central and provincial administration departments, and has been supported by special funds from the Central Government for two consecutive years, with a total amount of 2.6 million yuan, ranking first among free trade zones in Hubei.
