Blood for clinical use was in urgent and massive demand due to mixed causes of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and low temperatures during a period of time in the past. It was learned from the Central Blood Bank of Yichang on January 6 that many caring people responded to the appeal of blood donation to meet urgent clinical demand. So far, the shortage of banked blood has been mitigated with 946,700 milliliters of blood from 2726 warm-hearted individual and collective donators. Meanwhile, 124 bags of blood plasma collected from Covid-19 patients in recovery phase have been prepared and will be used for clinical treatment.
