To carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and pay a tribute to the role models, activities for the 60th Lei Feng Day were held in Yichang on March 5.

　　In recent years, to carry forward the Lei Feng spirit, numerous volunteers have participated in a variety of voluntary activities in Yichang, which helped and benefited the public.

　　By now, the total number of volunteers in the city reaches nearly one million, and there are 7456 volunteer service organizations. There are 3 pacesetters of learning from Lei Feng in national posts, 6 advanced individuals and 8 advanced groups and programs nationwide in learning from Lei Feng voluntary activities. A number of advanced volunteer models have emerged, including Li Guangjia known as contemporary Lei Feng, Liu Faying who is dedicated to donation and so on. Led by them, volunteering in spare time and asking volunteers for help is becoming a trend throughout the city.
