Rare and endangered plants introduced to scenic area

  Recently, the reporter learned that the Three Gorges Botanical Garden and the Three Gorges Great Waterfall scenic area signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build an exhibition of rare and endangered plants in the Three Gorges region, and another batch of artificially bred rare and endangered endemic plants, including Ormosia hosiei, jack trees, and horse chestnut, have been introduced to the scenic area.

  The Three Gorges Great Waterfall scenic area is home to a variety of rare and endangered plants, such as Machilus ichangensis, Psilopeganum sinense, etc, making it a suitable place for the survival and reproduction of rare and endangered plants in the Three Gorges region. The Three Gorges Botanical Garden has twice transplanted a total of 265 rare and endangered plants of 9 species to the Three Gorges Great Waterfall scenic area, and the scenic area has opened up exclusive planting areas for these rare and endangered plants and has set many public signs of science popularization for each plant species. According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly promote the protection of plant resources and the transformation of research achievements of rare and endangered plant cultivation, to provide scientific and technological support for the relocation and recurrence research of these rare and endangered plants.
