On April 18, according to the 12th joint meeting of pairing assistance from Shanghai to the Three Gorges area, Shanghai will allocate 50.82 million yuan to 11 pairing projects in Yiling District of Yichang City this year.

　　From 2020 to 2022, Shanghai Municipality has allocated 162 million yuan and carried out 83 pairing assistance projects, which has provide strong support for the economic and social development of Yiling District. Shanghai Municipality has provided continuous assistance to improve the functions of the Three Gorges Immigration and Employment Base, Letianxi Immigration Ecological Industrial Park and Shanghai-Yiling Industrial Park. In addition, it gives impetus to the development of JuneYao, Wahaha, Edunburgh Elevator and other enterprises in Yiling District, which has greatly facilitated the industrial development including equipment manufacturing, food and beverage and e-commerce of this district, contributing to the building of Zhongbao Rural Revitalization Demonstration Area in Sandouping Town, the rural homestay service industry in Taipingxi Town as well as the integrated projects of agriculture and tourism in Yiling District. Moreover, it implemented agricultural projects including the Chinese Refined Tea Export Base and planting and breeding industries in Huanghua Town and Fenxiang Town, benefiting tens of thousands of immigrants.

　　During the past three years, 14 sub-districts and towns in Jing’an District of Shanghai Municipality have taken part in the program of joint development with 14 township sub-districts in Yiling District and 12 institutions directly governed by the Yiling District Government, and several sub-districts including West Nanjing Road Sub-district even established direct connection of pairing assistance with the related villages or residential communities. Besides, 17 schools in Yiling District benefited from the pairing assistance provided by five schools in Jing’an District. Thanks to the platform of normal secondment and communication of the governmental officials between the two districts, a number of elite officials have been trained and cultivated for Yiling District. At the same time, to give top priority to people’s wellbeing, the two districts established the centers for immigration and employment service in Xiaoxita Sub-district and Wuduhe Town, sending the villagers experienced in immigration and employment to Shanghai for professional training and skills learning, including e-commerce, rural homestay operation and hand embroidery skills, and providing the opportunities of employment and income increase to more immigrant villagers or residents without leaving their hometown.
