Yichang receives over 6 million tourist trips during May Day holiday

  The May Day holiday has witnessed a remarkable boom of the tourism market of Yichang. As of May 3, 6.06664 million trips were made to the city, up by 53.66% and 67.22% respectively, compared with the same periods in 2019 and 2022. The total tourism revenue reached 4.15 billion yuan, increasing 149.55% and 88.21%, respectively, over the same periods in 2019 and 2022. The industry of culture and tourism is experiencing a strong momentum of recovery as the market remains stable and orderly.

  According to the data, a total of 1,125,963 trips were made to Yichang’s A-level tourist attractions, an increase of 39.95% and 188.74%, respectively, compared with the same periods in 2019 and 2022. A-level tourist attractions achieved revenue of 73.97 million yuan, up by 46.59% and 548.86%, respectively, over the same periods in 2019 and 2022. A total of 605,300 visits were made to the ten key monitored scenic spots, bringing in revenue of 42 million yuan, of which 4.41 million yuan was achieved by the Three Gorges Dam and 11.86 million yuan was achieved by the Tribe of Three Gorges. During the holiday, 126,000 tourist visits were made to the Three Gorges Dam and 89,900 were made to the Tribe of Three Gorges.
