Recently, Yichang has been listed in the second batch to construct national children-friendly cities according to the Notice by the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council.

　　To thoroughly implement the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Children-friendly Cities, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Working Committee on Children and Women have initiated the process of applying for construction of children-friendly cities. Yichang City through actively practicing the concept of children-friendliness in its various fields of economic and social development has laid a solid foundation for the inclusion of the city in the list by advancing the high-quality development of children’s undertakings from such five aspects as social policies, public services, interest protection, growth space and development environment.
