The first six “Xiaoge Canteens” were officially launched in Xiling district on June 20 to strengthen care and support for the new forms of employment such as food delivery, express delivery, and online car-hailing and alleviate the difficulties of Xiaoge (the Chinese name for delivery men and rideshare drivers) in finding places for meal and rest.

　　The “Xiaoge Canteens” are jointly established by the Organization Department of the CPC Xiling District Committee, the Market Supervision Bureau of Xiling District, and companies affiliated to the Xiling District Private-Owned Business Association. Delivery men and rideshare drivers can enjoy a 23% discount on dining. At the same time, the canteens provide considerate services such as drinking water supply, rest areas, phone charging, and food heating throughout the day in their efforts to alleviate the worries of the new workforce with heartwarming services.

　　To encourage the active participation of the new workforce in social governance, at the event, the certificate of “Food Safety Supervisor for Takeouts” were conferred on seven delivery men including Pei Daolin, the title of “Party Member Pioneer Vehicle” was given to vehicles whose drivers are Party members, and the certificate of “Part-time Grid-based Community Workers” were presented to nine Party member rideshare drivers including Qin Aimin and seven couriers including Wang Weiqiao.

　　Qin Aimin, a rideshare driver, said, “Usually, we don’t have fixed mealtimes. We often eat in restaurants on the roadside. ‘Xiaoge Canteens’ offer a variety of dishes at affordable prices. They are also clean, so we eat at ease.”

　　In the next step, Xiling district, adhering to the guiding principle of “understanding the situation, achieving full coverage, delivering services, and exerting influence”, will focus on ideological guidance and cohesive services. Efforts will be made to attract, organize, and stabilize this group, transforming them from “new targets of governance” to “new forces for development,” so as to achieve their development and high-quality economic and social development at the same time.
