Recently, the first batch of Hubei’s general transfer payment funds for transport in 2023 was issued. The city’s construction of “Four Good Rural Roads” and road maintenance received a reward of 32.58 million yuan, ranking first in the province.

　　In recent years, taking the construction of “Four Good Rural Roads” and beautiful Yichang roads as the starting point, Yichang has actively explored the high-quality development path of “Four Good Rural Roads”, comprehensively improved the level of construction, management, maintenance, and operation of rural roads, and implemented rural road development models like the integration of road construction and industry development, the integration of road construction and road tourism. This has driven industrial development, rural tourism and rural development, enhanced people’s happiness and sense of achievement, and helped rural revitalization. Up to now, the total mileage of rural roads in the city has reached 34,290 kilometers, ranking first in the province. The density of rural roads has reached 82.7 kilometers per 10,000 people, which is higher than the average level in the province. All 1,348 administrative villages have been connected by buses and hardened roads and more than 90% of the towns in the city have access to roads of the second class or above. There are dual-lane access to villages and single-lane access to households in the four counties in the east of Yichang.

　　Yichang has successfully established itself as a provincial demonstration city of the “Four Good Rural Roads”, and Yuan’an county has successfully established itself as a national demonstration county of “Four Good Rural Roads”. Yidu city, Dangyang city, Yuan’an county, and Dianjun district have successfully established themselves as provincial demonstration counties. Twenty towns including Longzhouping town in Changyang county, Fujiayan town in Wufeng county, Dongshi town in Zhijiang and Zhicheng town in Yidu city have successfully established themselves as provincial demonstration towns. Besides, four highways, including the Zhaojun Ecological Over-Water Highway in Xingshan county and the Anshi Danxia Highway in Yuan’an county, are awarded the “Top Ten Most Beautiful Rural Roads” and “Most Popular Rural Roads” in Hubei province.
