On August 26, a ceremony was held for the first delivery of the Sino-grain Yichang Warehouse Relocation and Reconstruction Project, with grain silos numbered 11 to 14 being successfully delivered. This marks the official use of the Sino-grain Yichang Warehouse Reserve, enabling the early storage of 40,000 tons of autumn grain.
The Sino-grain Yichang Warehouse Relocation and Reconstruction Project, which began on July 27, 2022 at Baiyang Industrial Park of Yichang Hi-Tech Zone, with the total investment of 2.48 billion yuan and a floor space of 418 mu (28 acres) will be finished in two phases with a total storage capacity of 1.1 million tons. The Phase I main structure of the 150,000-ton storage capacity, organized and implemented by Yichang Industry Investment Holding Group, has been basically completed. Currently, 4 silos with a total capacity of 40,000 tons have been put into operation to ensure the storage of autumn grain purchases, and it is expected that all silos will be put into full use by the end of the year. Once the entire project is completed, it will become a major strategic grain reserve base in the southwestern region of China, the largest grain distribution center in the Yangtze River Basin, and a significant deep processing base for grains nationwide, laying a solid foundation for building a modern grain and oil processing industrial park in Yichang.
