According to the Yichang East Railway Station on September 15, the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday train tickets are officially on sale, making it peak ticket sales day. Popular directions include Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Wuhan etc.

According to the information provided, this year's railway golden week is from September 27 to October 8, about 12 days with the expected passengers of 410,000 in Yichang East railway station due to the overlapping of Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday. Based on ticket pre-sale data, standby ticket purchases, and passenger flow patterns from China Railway’s official website “12306,” it is expected that cities such as Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Chengdu, and others will be popular departure and arrival destinations for travelers. In terms of passenger flow trends, long-distance travel will dominate at the beginning and end of the holiday period, resulting in peak passenger flows. In the middle of the holiday period, short-distance travel will be more common, but passenger flow is expected to remain high throughout the entire period.

During the festival, passengers have a strong desire to travel with a mix of family visits and tourism. Yichang Railway Department will allocate transportation resources appropriately, increase capacity, implement a peak operation schedule, and employ methods such as running multiple EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) trains and attaching extra carriages to regular passenger trains to increase seat availability on popular routes. At the same time, Yichang railway department will apply for dynamic adjustment of ticket allocation, timely dispatch ticket to Wuhan-Yichang line and Yichang-Wanzhou line to maximize the travel needs of passengers, according to ticket data from12306.
