On September 12th, the list of the first batch of digital economy demonstration cities and benchmark parks in Hubei Province was announced by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology. Yichang City was rated as a digital economy demonstration city in Hubei Province, and Dianjun Industrial Park was rated as a digital economy benchmark park in Hubei Province.
Yichang is a national gigabit city, a national information consumption demonstration city and a national pilot city for urban digital public infrastructure. Besides, Yichang is the first “double node” city in Central China to have a secondary node for industrial internet identifiers resolution and a backbone node for “Spark Chain Network”. At present, Yichang is working together with China Three Gorges Corporation and Sugon to fully apply for the building of a national integrated computing power network hub node and a national supercomputing center. The digital economy development pattern of “one zone, three parks” is accelerating to form. This year, our city plans 40 key digital economy projects with a total investment of 42.4 billion yuan.
The main demonstration task of Yichang City is to focus on the construction of diversified computing facilities, improvement of digital governance capabilities, and digital transformation of enterprises, taking actions to strengthen the foundation of computing networks, double data value, gather energy for industrial innovation, and create an industrial ecosystem. By 2025, “the integration of data and computing” and “the combination of data and reality” will be achieved. The added value of core industries in the digital economy will account for over 10% of the regional GDP.
The main demonstration tasks of Dianjun Industrial Park focus on computing power and big data direction, accelerating the construction of computing power infrastructure, and creating advantages in emerging digital industries. (Reporter/Zhao Jingyi, Correspondent/Luo Botao)
