On October 27, a press conference was held at the Yichang Three Gorges Media Center to announce the launch of the improved “Yichang Grid Service” (“YG Service”), an App of comprehensive services of Yichang. During the conference, all information of the new mini-program, including its functions, and users’ experience weere introduced.
The new “YG Service”, which has undergone iterative upgrades, serves as a smart civil service platform, featured by its comprehensive life-cycle application services, entire-population coverage, and 24-hour real-time services.
Sun Wenjuan, Deputy Director of the Municipal Urban Operations Management Center, stated that based on this platform, grid attendants, as the driving force, can form grid service teams composed of “community police, family doctors and legal advisors,” thus consolidating grassroots governance efforts and facilitating comprehensive, all-encompassing services. Through the “Individual-Wishes” module, they guide party members to help the public based on their expertise, engaging in various volunteer service activities such as routine neighborhood assistance and environmental protection. Simultaneously, the new version of the mini-program integrates recurring tasks like elderly certification, pension certification, and Mybus. Grid workers can proactively provide grid agency services and in-person assistance promptly. In terms of digital empowerment, the “YG Service” aggregates information dynamically collected by grid workers, encompassing public demands and potential conflict risks. Through grid reporting, it promotes rapid and efficient responsiveness and processing of public demands. Additionally, relying on online surveys, online consultations, and other functions, it assists grassroots operations in conducting efficient voting, public opinion surveys and so on.
With over 250 applications on one platform, “YG Service” offers a more convenient and user-friendly experience. At present, for the elderly who do not own smartphones and are unable to handle many daily life service matters online, the grid attendants can provide online agency services with their own smartphones.
Liu Lijun, who has tested this new platform, gave positive feedback that in the past, managing various tasks required downloading multiple apps, which was cumbersome, especially for elderly retirees. For example, obtaining pension eligibility certification used to involve time-consuming, physical visits. With the new mini-program, seniors can easily complete this process online within several minutes, making it much more convenient for them.
The new version of “YG Service” is a “government administration services plus city services” integrated platform established and operated by Hengtai Big Data Company of Yichang Production Investment Group under the guidance of Yichang Municipal Government Affairs Data Administration, representing a shift and elevation from a mini-app of a single government service to a city-level comprehensive service platform. In the new “YG Service” App, there is also a robot function named “Resident Assistant”, by entering keywords into the robot’s chat box, users can directly access information about social security, medical insurance, health, and more on their mobile phones. The platform has also launched the service hotline (6977939) to promptly address any questions or issues that users may encounter while using the platform. (Reporter/Pi Yajie)
