Jiuxitai Super Charging Station invested and constructed by Yichang Power Supply Company of the State Grid has been put into operation recently as the first comprehensive supercharging demonstration station in Yichang.

　　The charging station is located at the intersection of Chengdong Avenue and Zhongnan Road, and covers an area of 1000 square meters, and it is the first green energy demonstration station integrated with the functions of car battery charging, relaxation, recreation, catering and shopping. It provides convenient and fast charging service and meets diverse experiential needs of new energy vehicle (NEV) owners. Altogether, 18 charging piles and 35 charging guns have been put into service there, equipped with a set of 480-kilowatt group-charging and group-controlling system, a 480-kilowatt super charging set, eight 120-kilowatt DC charging piles and three 160-kilowatt DC charging piles.

　　According to Xiang Kun, the person in charge of the electric vehicle (EV) branch of Yichang Power Supply Company of the State Grid, group-controlled charging technology can fulfill centralized management and control of multiple charging piles and conduct precise control on each terminal by dynamically adjusting the power of them in accordance with the actual needs of vehicles, so as to achieve the maximum charging power. With a maximum output power of 600 kilowatts, a super charging pile can provide service 10 times more efficiently than ordinary chargers to NEVs with super charging functions.
