Recently, the rating board of China’s City Cultural Tourism Industry Development has announced that Yichang City ranks 35th out of 431 cities across China, totaling 79.41 scores.
The list was released based on the public data, office newsletters, and the government yearbook of 2022 from China’s cities. It evaluates a city from six aspects, including city infrastructure, economic indicators, citizens’ consumption level and living environment, cultural tourism programs, business atmosphere, and sustainable development. The assessment ranges from the city area and its resident population to its per capita GDP and climate, from facilities for cultural tourism to business investment promotion, from urban planning to people’s livelihood and environmental protection. Through an overall survey, this measure aims to unleash more vitality for the development of the cultural tourism industry and help more cities explore the potential in this field by giving full play to the local resources.
Since the policy to foster and promote the city brand was introduced in Yichang, the influence of the “Yichang Brand” has been felt far and wide, contributing to the reputation of the emerging city. Thanks to the ranking list, Yichang will attract more attention from market players at home and abroad, and its cultural tourism is expected to boom by word of mouth. In the future, more efforts will be made by local authorities to ramp up business, boost market confidence, and step up the economic growth, so as to promote the city’s development full steam ahead.
