Recently, the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs held the conference on social assistance management to launch the relief action of “Warmth Delivery” in winter.
The relief action of this year ranges from general aid, medical treatment and home-returning assistance to closer reorganization of people in need through street inspections and aid applicants sorting, and family tracing services, and further to resettlement and stabilization of life conditions after returning home. The street inspections will focus on areas such as underpasses, bridge culverts, abandoned houses and urban-rural junctions to recognize people in temporary failure of job hunting and sleeping rough as well as vagrant minors and people with suspected mental disorders, especially in days of severe cold weather, freezing rain and snow, and plummeting temperatures. The community-level forces, such as sanitation workers, bus and taxi drivers, and nighttime security personnel will be mobilized to guide people in temporary need to relief agencies or temporary relief spots.
“Warmth Delivery” services will be provided in sorted cases in accordance with the principle of helping the people in need as much and quickly as possible, and the relief and management institutions will strengthen emergency duty for in-time respond to requests for help. The 24-hour rescue hotline 0717-6301519 of the city rescue management station will be available in case of any need of relief assistance. (Reporter/Shi Gang, Correspondents/Yue Xiaolin & Qin Jin)
