As of November 24, the touristic area of the Three Gorges Project saw over 3.2 million visits in 2023, which surpassed the total volume of 2019, and set a record annual high.
Since this year, the great hydraulic project on the middle Yangtze River has regained its popularity as an attraction with daily reception of trips over 10,000 on several weekends in a row. During the summer vacation, the hot spot welcomed a spike in tours, with over 160,000 trips made by teenagers, nearly three times the amount of the same period in 2019 on record, as manifests the important role of this designated destination as a national site for patriotic education.
With the vision to foster cultural tourism, the touristic area has rolled out the routes with distinctive themes based on eco-tourism, Party Spirit education, revolutionary field trips, and patriotic sessions to build a patriotic education base rich of elements of Chinese revolution history. Excellent narrators were pooled to tell the stories of the Three Gorges Project and promote the cultural aspect of the Three Gorges Dam through historical illustrations. By doing so, travel enthusiasts will soak up the cultural atmosphere, rather than just following the practice of registering their presence at a location that has become a fashion.
Devoted to cultural education, resonation, and cultivation, the tourism arm of the China’s Three Gorges Group has been committed to a variety of themed activities, so as to provide immersive and one-stop sightseeing services. It has also kicked off a tour package featuring various cultural events, such as Demonstration of Intangible Cultural Heritage on Site and Blessing Motherland from Here, to showcase the colossal manmade wonder, spice up visitors’ cultural experience, and cultivate people’s love for the country.
