The Thirteenth Session of the Standing Committee of the Seventh Municipal People’s Congress deliberated the Report on Mid-term Evaluation of the Implementation of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Yichang City submitted by the Municipal People’s Government on November 30.
The report indicates that since the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Yichang has focused on the overall goals, key tasks, and development priorities set in the plan, and put vigorous stress on the fulfillment of each task. On the whole, the plan has been well implemented, with the main target indicators, key tasks, and major projects well achieved as planned.
The first half of this year has witnessed a good start to the high-quality development of Yichang as outlined in the “14th Five-Year Plan”, as promises Yichang’s persistence in adhering to the principle of seeking stable further progress with a new philosophy of development in a new development pattern, and concerted efforts will be made to promote concentrated and high-quality development of the city and its industries to build Yichang into a model city of the Yangtze River protection and a world-class city.
Exactly, it will be expedited to build Yichang into a model city for the Yangtze River protection and stimulate the stable growth of the economy to make Yichang a vital regional center. The modern industrial system will be established to lay a solid foundation for economic growth and the function of the urban district will be improved to enhance the radiating and driving capacity of Yichang. Reform will be deepened and opening up will be expanded to stimulate Yichang’s endogenous power for high-quality development and comprehensive rural revitalization will be further promoted to create livable and beautiful countryside. The construction of ecological civilization will be strengthened to facilitate low-carbon transformation and the promotion will be conducted for modernization of social governance.
