GI4013, the first regular cargo flight from Zhengzhou to Yichang, landed smoothly at Sanxia Airport at 22:02 on December 8. This marks the opening of the first regular cargo flight route at Sanxia Airport since its operation.
The regular freight route between Yichang and Zhengzhou operates one flight per day, using a B737-800 all-cargo aircraft with a maximum one-way payload of up to 20 tons. It is expected that the route will achieve an annual cargo throughput of 10,000 tons after regular operations. The first outbound flight carried food, express parcels, factory goods, and exported goods transiting through Zhengzhou. The inbound flight primarily loaded goods such as food, chemical products, daily necessities, and auto parts from Zhengzhou to Yichang.
The opening of the Yichang-Zhengzhou all-cargo air route establishes a new air logistics channel at Yichang Sanxia Airport, effectively addressing its shortfall of insufficient belly-hold capacity of the passenger aircrafts. It provides robust air logistics support for the nationwide and global distribution of Yichang’s distinctive branded agricultural and sideline products, pharmaceutical products, and manufacturing goods.
