The reporter learnt from the project management department of the third bid-section of the Yidu-Laifeng Highway Project that the construction team of the China Railway Sixth Group succeeded in holing through the left-side entrance of Xiejiaping Tunnel.

　　As introduced, the Xiejiaping Tunnel located in Changleping Town, Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County is a separated bidirectional tunnel of with a total length of 1,648 meters and a maximum depth of 253 meters. The tunnel passes through the branch of the Wuling Mountains, suffering from a great many karst caves and underground streams as well as poor rock stability of the left-side passage.

　　To overcome the difficulties brought by complicated geology, steep mountains and low temperature in winter, large concrete robots with wet spraying technology are adopted in construction. This technology ensures both quality and personnel safety by improving the degree of mechanization, reducing the consumption of labor and material resources, and effectively shortening the construction period.
