On January 25, the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Government announced the general scores and rankings of the business environment evaluation of Hubei Province in 2023 at the conference on optimization of the business environment for 2024. Yichang ranked second out of 17 prefectural cities and was awarded the title of provincial model city for a fourth consecutive year.

　　In 2023, the localities of Yichang City saw optimizing business environment as their top priority for promoting industrial development and spurring healthier economic growth.
