According to the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, Yichang has recently been ranked 63rd in the national innovation capability index and 64th in the Top 100 Cities in the list of national urban innovation capability, as per the 2023 National Innovative Cities Innovation Capability Evaluation Report released by the Science and Technology Information Institute of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
