2024-04-16 14:59:00

Recently, it was reported that more than 400,000 tourists visited the Three Gorges Dam tourism area in the first quarter of this year.

Since the beginning of this year, the number of visitors to the Three Gorges Dam tourism area has been steadily increasing. During the 8-day Spring Festival holidays this year, the Three Gorges Dam tourism area received nearly 135,000 visitors, an increase of 30.37% compared to the same period in 2019, hitting a record high.

The Three Gorges Dam tourism area, relying on the world’s largest hydraulic engineering project—the Three Gorges Project, organically integrates modern engineering, natural scenery, and cultural landscapes, comprehensively showcasing engineering culture and hydraulic culture. It adheres to concept of integrating culture and tourism and developing multiple themed routes of “Ecology plus Tourism”, “Educational Excursion plus Tourism” and so on.

In addition, the Three Gorges Dam tourism area has also launched a variety of activities, such as the introduction of intangible cultural heritage and the establishment of helping stations in the tourism area, to combine Jingchu culture and ecological environmental protection with intangible cultural heritage, and revitalize traditional intangible cultural heritage in the new era, while the latter assists the Three Gorges Group in promoting sales of local specialties in the tourism area.(Reporter/Wang Ying, Correspondents/Qin Mingshuo & Li Man)
