The launching ceremony of the Ninth Yangtze Reading Festival was held at the Hubei Provincial Library on April 16. Reading brands, including “Farmers’ Reading Festival” of Yidu Library, “Reciters in the Tea County” of Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County Library, and “Book-relevant Entertainment” of Yiling District Library are exhibited for the Hubei Province Public Libraries’ Reading Campaign.
Yichang Library, in collaboration with Hubei Provincial Library, has led the community-level public libraries to promote the activity themed “Meet to Read” since 2019. They have actively and accurately delivered reading resources to the most in-need rural towns and villages. With a focus on creating regional characteristics, they have successfully organized 150 culture-themed and high-quality events. Thus, several influential reading brands have been established. These efforts have encouraged the public to cultivate the habit of reading good books with passion, thereby creating a strong atmosphere of reading in the province.
