Since April 2020, the Yichang Administration for Market Regulation has been promoting the “7-day unconditional return/exchange commitment campaign of physical stores”, providing an extra guarantee for consumers. This practice has been recognized as Yihang’s 2023 innovative programme of “Rule of Law Benefiting People”.

　　According to the statistics from the Yichang Consumer Council, up till now, a total of 1,120 stores in 14 industries, including supermarkets, clothing, dietary supplements, home furnishings, and building materials, have implemented 7-day unconditional return/exchange. These participating businesses have independently resolved more than 303,000 consumer disputes, involving over 23.23 million yuan in transactions. In a nationwide consumer satisfaction evaluation of 100 cities, Yichang has ranked first among participating cities within the Hubei Province for the four consecutive years from 2020 to 2023. In the evaluations of 2022 and 2023, Yichang ranked tenth nationwide and claimed the top spot among the 39 Type-II large cities (with between one to three million residents) and the 24 cities in the central region of China.
