On May 24-25, the 7th Digital China Construction Summit took place in Fuzhou, provincial capital of southeast China’s Fujian Province. Recommended by the Hubei Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Statistics, as the only government authority province-wide, stood out at the Hubei Pavilion by presenting the achievements made in urban digital infrastructure. Its stunning show has come to people’s attention.
During the event, Yichang unveiled an array of scenarios with digital infrastructure, including the Residential AI Brain, Smart Construction Sites, and Intelligent Fire Response plus One-Click Life Rescue. The government illustrated a package of AI platforms designed for residential community workers, such as high-precision information data, community-targeted database, and AI-generated work ledgers. It also showed how Smart Construction Sites have integrated data with homeowners, apartments, and construction equipment with the help of standardized information models in order to provide better digital service. AI Fire Alarm was introduced to pinpoint the location when an emergency arises. People in need would receive the quickest possible response by scanning the QR code on the door.
In September 2022, Yichang was designated as a national pilot city for urban digital infrastructure construction. Under the guidance of “a pilot scheme goes before promotion,” the Hengtai Big Data Company, a research arm of the Yichang Industrial Investment Group, spearheaded the development of the city’s digital infrastructure platform. In December 2023, the project successfully met the acceptance criteria, with 12 pioneering practices rolling out across Hubei Province. (Reporter/He Guanying, Correspondent/Chen Denghong)
