On May 18, the main event for “International Museum Day” in China was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi. During the ceremony, the 21st annual selection of the Top 10 Museum Exhibitions for the year 2023 was announced. The core exhibition at the Three Gorges Project Museum was awarded the “Excellence Award of Top Ten Museum Exhibitions in China”.

　　The Three Gorges Project Museum is the world’s largest specialized museum dedicated to a hydropower engineering project. It features three main exhibition halls, namely the Three Gorges Hall, the Engineering Hall, and the Hydropower Hall, as well as specialized exhibition halls like the Hydropower Education and Research Center, and the Professional Exchange Center. Making full use of its core exhibition, the museum has undertaken patriotic education and popular science education on hydropower as well.

　　The “Top 10 Museum Exhibitions in China” is the highest accolade in the field of museum exhibitions in the country. The selection process is guided by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and organized by the China Museums Association and the Weekly of China’s Cultural Relics.
