Yichang ranks first in provincial sci-tech innovation evaluation

  On June 30, the reporter learned from the Yichang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that Yichang ranked first in the evaluation of county-ship science and technology innovation in 2023, as a winner of six consecutive years, according to the recent result released by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government.

  The evaluation result shows that a total of 20 counties in Hubei Province won the title of excellent sci-tech innovation cities, including Yidu County, Zhijiang County, Dangyang County, Yiling District, and Xiaoting District of Yichang City, with the largest number of excellent counties among the municipalities within the province. Besides, Zigui County was listed in the 5 model counties with remarkable progress, as the only county of Yichang that was granted the honor.

  In recent years, Yichang has implemented an in-depth innovation-driven development strategy. Basing on the construction of a regional science and technology innovation center in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, it has been sticking to the principle of “driving sci-tech innovation through investment and talent cultivation and introduction”, and has achieved greater accomplishments in comprehensive strength of sci-tech innovation and ecological index of regional sci-tech innovation, ranking first among the municipalities within the province.

  The Yichang High-tech Zone has been ranking 43rd among the 169 national high-tech zones since 2022. Besides, in the past years, Yidu County and Zhijiang County were listed among national-level innovative counties, the former listed in China’s top 100 counties of sci-tech innovation, Zhijiang County and Dangyang County were approved as provincial high-tech industrial development zones, and Zigui County, Dangyang County, Yiling District provincial- innovative counties and districts respectively.
