　　On the evening of July 27, in front of the colossal screen at the main stage of “Meeting Paris Olympics in Xiling” in Jiefang Road Pedestrian Street, Yichang, a captivated audience of citizens and tourists were watching the thrilling swimming competitions of the Paris Olympics, live on CCTV. Capitalizing on the global sporting fervor of the Olympics, Xiling District initiated crafting a new identity for its cultural, commercial, and tourism sectors under the banner of “Blessed Yichang, Beloved Xiling.” Drawing upon the bustling commerce and popularity of Jiefang Road Pedestrian Street, the district transformed the area into an immersive urban outdoor sports experience zone, integrating sports viewing, leisurely gatherings, athletic displays, culinary delights, e-sports competitions, and parent-child interaction. Some efforts are made to promote sports events into residential neighborhoods and business districts, so as to boost the consumption of culture, business, tourism and sports, as well as shore up the booming night economy in Xiling District.

　　At 18:30, the ceremony of the theme activity rolled out along with the message from the video clip of Xiong Shiqi, a Yichang Olympic athlete. During the ceremony, local authorities designated 11 viewing points where residents and visitors could enjoy live broadcasts of the Olympic Games. Additionally, they presented a comprehensive food map for trying delicacies such as Baozi, noodles, and rice noodles, recommended a food list for breakfast, and issued consumption coupons for the night market in the Xiling District.
