To meet the demands of the tourists, the Yichang Municipal Council for the Promotion of Construction in the Old Revolutionary Areas has integrated the revolutionary history with tourism, creating a series of red tourism attractions and high-quality travel routes. This not only enhances the cultural flavor of tourism products, but also stimulates the endogenous dynamics of the old revolutionary base areas. To date, in total 16 red tourism routes have been developed in Yichang.

　　In Xingshan County, the Baxinggui Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall has been established near the historical sites of the “Luobaizi” Tragedy and the Hejiaping Great Victory. The county has developed tourism in the townships by combining red tourism, ecological tourism and folk tourism. Changyang Tujia Autonomous County has turned the site where He Long (1869-1969, a prominent revolutionary and military leader) led the revolution in Machi Town into a national 3A-level tourist attraction, opening up two red tourism routes. Among them, the one-day tour of the Machi Red Village has become the main product of the tourism company of Qingjiang River Gallery (a 5A-level tourist site in Yichang) and a fine route of red tourism. At the same time, more than ten kinds of red tourism products and souvenirs have been developed, with an annual reception of tourists exceeding 50,000 people.
