Yichang has achieved a harmonious integration of energy, agriculture, and environmental protection in the development of rural clean energy. By implementing biogas projects, Yichang has effectively managed manure pollution from farms and surrounding areas, significantly reducing diffused pollution while protecting the ecological environment and generating economic benefits, as has achieved low pollution, low emissions and high efficiency.
Yichang has also made advances in the utilization of solar energy, the promotion of clean cookstoves and the development of biomass energy. Chen Mingfu, Director of the Rural Energy Office, emphasized that Yichang adopts tailored approaches to suit local conditions. It promotes biogas projects in flat areas, and biomass cookstoves and solar water heaters in mountainous regions, with solar street lights being introduced in Xingshan County. In the first half of this year, 2,671 new households have been equipped with clean energy systems, 1,579 biomass semi-gasifiers have been promoted, and 584 solar water heaters have been added to the infrastructure of Yichang.
