The case collection activity, under the guidance of the China Network Space Research Institute and organized by the journal of China Information and Communication, aims to jointly foster a vibrant online environment and cultivate a fertile soil for international exchanges and mutual learning in network civilization. A total of 105 cases were submitted from 27 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities). After a rigorous selection process, 50 typical cases emerged as outstanding ones.
In recent years, Yichang has thoroughly implemented the guidance by President Xi Jinping on strengthening and improving international communication. Yichang has broken through the bottlenecks of local international communication, enhanced international exchanges in network civilization, and built a multi-dimensional pattern of distinctive external publicity through establishing multi-layered international communication platforms, developing the system of local culture with local characteristics, establishing a composite talent cultivation mechanism, and constructing a new ecosystem for international communication.
In January 2024, Yichang's practice of international communication was selected as one of the “Model Cases for International Communication among Cities in China”, and its international communication platform, “Gorgeous Yichang”, was listed among the Second National Innovation Demonstration Projects for Local Communist Party Media Integration Development.
