Torobayev and his delegation visited the Three Gorges Project, including the exhibition hall, the ship locksand the left-bank power plantandgaineda comprehensive understanding of the construction, flood control, power generation and navigationof the Three Gorges Project. They also experienced the spectacular sight of the Three Gorges Reservoir from the top of thedam.
Torobayev commented that Yichang is a beautiful city with a favorable ecological environment and pleasant climate. The Three Gorges Project, he noted, as the largest water control project and the most extensive hydroelectric project in terms of comprehensive benefits in the world to date, has been exerting tremendous economic and social benefits as well as ecological benefits in energy conservation and emission reduction, boastingover ten functions including flood control, power generation, shipping, and ecological water replenishment. Marveling at the remarkable achievements of the Three Gorges Project, Torobayev hoped that there will be further deep and substantial cooperation in many aspects between Yichang and Kyrgyzstan, especiallyinthe hydroelectric sector.
