The picturesque landscapes of the Three Gorges section have always been a favorite among tourists. The unique experiences of “ships riding the elevator” and “water levels rising with the ship” continue to attract visitors. Popular routes such as long-distance cruise ships and the “Two Dams, One Gorge” luxury tours have maintained strong demand, with passenger traffic increasing by 25.08% year-on-year in the first three quarters. During this year’s National Day holiday alone, the Three Gorges Ship Lift saw 24,000 passengers, up 31% year-on-year, while the Gezhouba No. 3 Ship Lock handled 67,000 passengers, up 11.1%.
Additionally, the operational capacity of the Three Gorges Hub’s navigation channels has further expanded, enhancing the efficiency of the golden waterway. Over the National Day holiday, the hub completed 333 lock operations, facilitating the passage of 947 vessels and 3.262 million tons of cargo. It prioritized the transport of 764,000 tons of essential materials such as coal for power generation, representing a 5.33% increase year-on-year. (Reporters/Wang Yingand Hu Liying)
